14x14x14 “Be Bold, Be True” Surrealism Visionary Art
14x14x14 inch- Stretched Canvas
“Be Bold, Be True”
My newest artwork inspired by my battle as an Artist against falling prey to the “Beige Invasion” of Northern Michigan.
Moving to Northern Michigan last year as a BIPOC surrealism artist has changed my art business drastically… and unfortunately not for the better.
Up here the patrons of art prefer minimalism, aesthetic, lakeshore, lighthouses… and in general what I call
“The Beige Invasion”.
As a result I have had to resort to relying solely on online sales to survive.
Everything is so up in the air but one thing will always be true; I AM AN ARTIST and I will continue to create art that I love.
This piece is a symbol of my staying true to myself in hopes of uplifting my new community to color and vibrancy.
Colorful people, colorful culture, and colorful art is desperately needed up here and I aim to be strong enough to bring as much whimsy, magic, and color as I can.
The rejection can be hard sometimes… but I have to believe its worth it.
